So I have a BEAUTIFUL baby boy now who is a little over 3 months. He’s an amazing gift from God. I’m also now a REALTOR!!! Which is so exciting. So far this year my life seems to have turned from bitter to better! I hope everything is going well for all of you. I’m currently checking out Westside Baptist Church because they have sooo many things available to get involved in ministry and spreading the Word to the lost. So I’ll let you know about that. Well, I haven’t been on in a while so I’ll try to catch you up fast! I’m pregnant and expecting my new addition on October 12th. I’m very excited and can’t wait! It’s a boy and his name is Joel Asher. His name means Joel = Jehovah is God and Asher = Happy. I’m still working with my mom at the daycare and for a chiropractor in the evening. I’m also selling AVON on the side. Well, I better get back to work and hopefully I’ll update more often. God bless!

So, I’ve been working at mom’s daycare in Newberry and I’ve been trying to start these ministries that the Lord told me about before I came home from Costa. One of them is we will have coffee and cookies for parents in the morning when they drop off their children. It’s set up in the foyer where the parents sign in and out their children. Basically the idea is to set styrofoam cups out with sticky labels (the ones used for return address envelopes) on them with the ‘verse of the week’ printed on them. Also, the cookies, 2 per ziploc bag, will be in a basket up front right next to the coffee with the same scripture printed on a label with that label stuck on every ziploc bag. In case they missed both of those, right above the coffee maker and cookies there will be the scripture printed out very large so that maybe when they’re stirring they’ll read it. The idea here is to spread the Word. We need to plant seeds! Faith comes from hearing the Word of God (that’s what the Bible tells us – can’t remember where) so our ministry here is trying to expose anyone who comes in the daycare to the Word of God and hope that one day it will lead to the conversion conversation and thus expanding the Kingdom of God (the great commission)! I’m very excited about this, but we have about 30 kids at the daycare so that means about 60 cookies everyday have to be made. We have an industrial sized coffee pot so we’re fine there, but if anyone would like to help make cookies and stick them in the bags that would be a HUGE help! Please just pray about it and if you feel like God is calling you to do something with this ministry, maybe not even make cookies, maybe something He’s got specially planned for you, then please be obedient to God and do it! Hey everyone! I just wanted to update you on the ministries God wanted me to do in Newberry through Mom’s daycare. There is still so much more to be done, but I’ve started! We are having a Bible study called “Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible” starting next Monday at Mom’s house at 6:30pm. I will be providing dinner and it will be an amazing time of fellowship for us women! Anyhow, that’s what we’ve got going on so far. I will definitely keep you posted on ministry as it grows. Anyone (women only of course!) is welcome to come to to this Bible study if they’d like. Hope we all see how God is blessing us tremendously! His, Trisha

So, you know that the team is going to Israel, because they are being called to Israel. Since the meeting before Christmas, I felt God telling me not to go. I was praying since then and the team was praying too that God would continue to reveal His plan for me. But it never changed, God is still telling me not to go to Israel. This didn’t really make sense to us, as lots of things God tells us don’t, because most of the team God is telling to go to Israel on outreach and three others (including myself) God is telling not to go to Israel. We all were obedient to Him in our decisions and the three that God has said not to go stood by what He said. The leaders talked with the director of YWAM Latin America and he said that those being called to Israel should go and they will finish their outreach and graduate from the school this February. He said for the others God is not calling to Israel, they should be obedient to Him and they have these choices as far as graduating from their DTS. He said that we have credit for the lecture phase (the first part of the school) and that we have two years to finish the outreach phase. But we don’t get partial credit for the outreach we’ve already completed in Panama and Nicaragua. He said that we can just do the outreach phase of DTS, in order to graduate – about 3 months, at any YWAM base in the world. But if we choose to do it here with the base we did our lecture phase at then they have to accept our credits for the lecture phase. If we choose a different base then the directors at that base have the right to accept or deny our lecture phase that we’ve already completed. Meaning, they can say you have to do the whole school over again (lecture and outreach phases) or they can say you can just do the outreach here we accept your credits for the lecture phase you’ve already completed. So that’s what has been going on here. Since God has not called me to go to Israel, I’m not going and I’ll be flying home tomorrow. (My flight is arriving in Miami at 11pm Friday the 16th and hopefully I will be driving with mom to Newberry on Saturday the 17th.) The team should be leaving for Israel within a couple of days and so I prayed about it and felt like God says to fly home. I’m not sure if I’ll complete my outreach phase, of course I want to, but I will continue to pray about it and see what God wants. Because ultimately I want what He desires for me. So, SURPRISE!! I’m coming home early! I will continue with my blog because God has been giving me amazing ideas for ministries He wants me to start or help with in Newberry. He has told me that He wants me to work with my mom at the daycare she has and redeem it for Him. There’s so many more plans He has told me about but I will just tell you as they come. I’m really excited about coming home and I’m so glad about His peace ruling in my heart! Well, guess I’ll see alot of you very soon!

Nicaragua…

Hello everyone! First I would like to apologize for not updating my blog lately. I’ve been super busy! We got back from Nicaragua on January 10th. It was an amazing trip, God showed us sooooo much through the people there. They have such hospitality even though we are so much more blessed than so many of them. They have time for conversations. They don’t just go go go. They take time and invite you in and sit you down. You share and talk with them over coffee and bread. You actually form a relationship with them. They don’t settle for just “Hey how are you? Good, you? Good.” They open their hearts to you. Some of them don’t even have doors on their homes and their floors are just packed down dirt. We ask them if there’s anything they would like for us to pray for them and they say no thank you we are so blessed we have everything we need. I just stand there baffled by their response, which is like a smack in my face because of how much I have that I don’t need. I feel that God has really opened my eyes to joy that is unseen. So many around me have so many things and claim to be happy, yet these people in Nicaragua all have a twinkle in their eye that I don’t see in the others. It’s like they understand something that we all miss over and over again everyday. I don’t know if I’ll ever fully understand it, as at the moment, I’m so blessed that I don’t think I’ll know the joy that a glass of clean water can bring to me. But through this, God has definitely taught me about the things that I take for granted everyday, that I overlook in the hustle and bustle of life, things that I treat as if they will never run out, and things that my attitude says “I deserve.” God promises to take care of us and He does. We think that we are struggling when we are only getting paid minimum wage. Which will pay for food, shelter, and drink, we just upset because we can’t afford to buy a new pair of name brand shoes. What is wrong with us? We complain far too much and say thanks to be polite. But how about a real thanks. A thanks to God for keeping His promises even when we are cheating on Him with the world. I hope and pray that God will open all of our eyes to this unseen joy that He has for us. This joy that can only be found in Him by living backwards to everything the world has taught us so far. I pray that He will break us until we listen and thank Him for never giving up on us and fighting for us even though we don’t deserve it. Wow, He is so amazing and through these people He has changed my life even more. I pray that I will never forget what I’ve learned on this trip to Nicaragua.

Anyhow, my camera quit working while we there so I didn’t get to take any pictures. But my good friend Shannon took plenty of pictures and as soon as she emails them to me I will upload them for you. Thanks for reading and I pray that God will bless your heart today.

Israel…

After going to God again to ask Him where He desires us to go after we return from Nicaragua. We had a meeting today and all said what God told us and we felt like we were to go to Israel. So we will be going to Israel and we will not be going to Tanzania. Please continue to pray for our safety and for God to strengthen us through Him and for us to continue to be obedient to His will. We are leaving for Nicaragua tomorrow and then we will return to Costa Rica sometime between January 10th and 15th then after we stay in Costa Rica a few days we will be off to Israel. We will stay there until the middle of February and then come back to Costa Rica for graduation and then I’ll be headed home to Newberry! YAY! Just wanted to give you an update and I’ll try to write you and give you another update after we return from Nicaragua. I love and miss all of you! xoxoxox

This is the boat ride back to the bus which took us back to the YWAM base in Panama. Gosh, it is soooo beautfiul. Oh and that’s the river that I bathed in everyday. It is crystal clear and just gorgeous! God is soooo amazing!
